Black Onyx: Black has been associated with regeneration and new beginnings. Black onyx is thought by some to have protective qualities, making it advantageous to carry when traveling. It is said to be useful in fighting basic fears and helping to move beyond bad relationships--as well as to heal old emotional wounds. The onyx associate with courage and it is thought to be useful when one is defending him/herself against unfair criticism.
PALO SANTO: Best used for clearing the energy of a small space or yourself. Light the purifying wooden stick at a 45 degree angle and carefully blow out the flames. Allow the smoke to fill every corner of the room. If cleansing yourself, start at your feet and move up your body. Say a small prayer asking for blessings, or set an intention for negative energies to be removed. The stick will blow out on its own.
SAGE: Best used for cleansing an entire home or office when you need a fresh start. Light the sage and be sure to carry a bowl to catch the embers. Start clockwise at any entry point and every room, allowing the smoke to fill all corners – don’t forget closets! Say a small prayer asking for blessings, or set an intention for negative energies to be removed. When cleansing is over, dab the sage in your bowl until the embers die out.
